These terms of use set fourth your rights and obligations with respect to your use of any services on the Xente app. If you disagree to all the terms contained you should kindly post your query on any of our platforms or please do not use the service.

The personal information about you that maybe collected by Xente and through the services Xente offers will be held with reasonable efforts to protect your personal information. Xente shall implement and maintain reasonable procedures for protecting personal information in compliance with the applicable law and the Xente privacy policy.

At Xente we usually reach our customers on using their telephone contacts provided during the sign up, or using their emails and as well as on the different social media plat forms.

Liability

Neither Xente, content owner, third party licensor, employees, agents, respective directors, contractors, subsidiaries nor affiliated companies will not be liable (held responsible) for any indirect, accidental, primitive, special consequential or exemplary damages, or loss of any kind arising from you using the Xente services or for any damages in excess of the amount paid for the specific item of the content giving rise to the applicable claim for the damage.

Intellectual property

The site and its original content, features and functionality (including but not limited to all the information, text, displays, images, videos, selection and arrangement thereof) are owned by Xente and protected by the National Payment System Act. These terms of us grant you a nontransferable, revocable licensee to access and use the app. Clients shall ensure that he the information is used solely for the client’s research and or preference purposes and will not be copied, rebroadcast or commercially exploited.

Any use of the app not expressly permitted by these terms and conditions is a breach of the terms and conditions and could risk termination.

Price and Payment Policy

This payment policy often explains how and when the payment is due. Prices are quoted in UGX (Ugandan clients), Kenya shilling (KES) for our Kenyan clients and Naira for the Nigerian clients. Payments may be required before the products or services are delivered. Xente does not guarantee that a particular product will always be available. Xente will not charge for any orders that cannot fulfilled and where appropriate Xente will refund to your account any sum deducted by Xente. Xente reserves the right to accept or refuse any payments made in any form. Your credit card company may also do security checks to confirm if you are making the order.

Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles and concepts have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information. In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take necessary and appropriate responsive action, should a data breach occur.

Xente accepts payments through mobile money (MTN and Airtel), Visa cards (All banks in Uganda), Debit and Credit Cards, Prepaid cards and Master Cards.

Termination Clause

We may terminate your access to the app and the different Xente platforms without cause or notice since membership is not an automatic right, this may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with your account. All provisions of this agreement that, by their nature, should survive termination, including without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability. The following acts could risk termination.

  • Communicating with Xente representatives in an abusive manner
  • Use of abusive language, threaten, harass, impersonate or intimidate any person on the different Xente platforms.
  • Transmitting unwanted spam to any person on the Xente app or any other Xente platforms.
  • Communications designed to obtain passwords, account numbers, or private information from another Xente user.
  • Posting information that does not belong to you especially during the sign up stages.
  • Posting any content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane, libelous etc.

There will be constant adjustments in the terms and conditions. This will be very vital for we are in a dynamic economy which requires being very vigilant.

Information Collected

Xente clearly explains the different types of information collected during the usage of the different services offered by Xente. Collection of this information helps to make decisions on how to provide the best services. Information collected and how the information is used solely depends on how you use our services and how you manage the privacy controls. The information collected include;

Personal information required to verify your identity. In such cases the information we collect include Name, date of birth, form of identification (national id or passport) and a picture. Whenever a Xente account is created you provide us with personal information i.e. Name, password, phone, email, location etc.

Xente customers applying for loans especially (both short and long term loans) have to provide detailed information about themselves so as to determine whether you are eligible to acquire the loan or not. Details like the clients credit history, place of work, daily income or salary will be required.

Why we collect data

Xente collects data for the following purposes.

Provide services. To deliver the best services we use this information for example we use your phone number for the airtime transactions, account numbers for clients paying for utilities and other bills.

Maintain and improve our services

As Xente our biggest goal is to keep the client happy. We use this information so as in cases where there are any changes that have been made, the customers are constantly up dated.

Xente also uses this information collected to come with new products and services. This in most cases is done by comparing the existing customers and the new customers. What their main demand are or where the most complaints have been made and improvements done.
